Position: Taking Root / En Racine is seeking a Communications Intern to join our dynamic team. This is an opportunity to help strengthen our visual identity and promote the organisation both online and in the community. It is a part-time internship position of 8-15hrs a week. Taking Root / EnRacine is a Montreal-based non-profit organisation working to restore and protect Nicaragua’s forest ecosystems through sustainable, community-based projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the current website;
- Helping to develop a new CMS (Content Management System) driven site to replace current site in order to meet new needs and goals of the organisation;
- Designing and building a monthly e-newsletter;
- Proposing and assisting in the implementation of promotional and educational campaigns; and
- Creating promotional and educational print and online material for the various ongoing projects of the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Good working knowledge or HTML, CSS, PHP, etc.;
- Some experience setting up and working with open-source CMSs;
- Excellent written English, written French is an asset;
- Ability to work well with a team in a collaborative and open environment; and
- A love for the environment!

Position: One intern for our program LIVING MONTREAL, a daily, half hour, lifestyle program hosted by Sue Smith.
We are looking for a student who:
- is comfortable with Internet and web applications
- has basic knowledge of HTML
- has good research skills and is resourceful
- will provide story ideas for the show as well as for the website
- has a good conversational French and good comprehension.
- good interpersonal skills
The intern will have the opportunity to be on set when we shoot our program as well as in the edit suite. The main focus for this person though will be web related.
